A woman gave birth to a baby girl amid the heavy traffic in EDSA on Saturday, September 1.
Cheoui De Leon and her partner Luis Bernabe were on their way home from their baby shower when she felt the contractions.
The mother narrated in a radio interview that they were making a u-turn around Kamuning Road when she started crowning.
“The traffic made it worse. Luis decided to press on hazard. I was starting to shake for each intense pain tapos nakaharang pa mga buses and some cars wont let us pass tho Luis kept on beeping,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
De Leon said that they have saved on expenses because they did not have to pay the fees for a hospital labor room. She called it an unforgettable experience.
She added that her husband remained calm despite the stressful conditions. However, Bernabe said that he only stayed composed so he would not aggravate her wife even though he had plenty of things going on in his head.
The couple advised expecting moms to always be ready especially weeks before their due date. They also said to make time for everything and anticipate the traffic.
