No extravagant parties and no expensive food. This is how the president wanted to celebrate his birthday this year.
Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said the president will be spending his special day in his Davao home with his family.
“Mayor Rody will be celebrating his birthday at home with his family. He has never been known to throw lavish birthday parties even when he was mayor of Davao City,” Go said in a statement.
In previous years, Duterte marked spent his birthday visiting senior citizens and swinging with the karaoke microphone with his close friends and family in Davao City.
In terms of what the president wanted to receive for his birthday, Go said Duterte would want to receive prayers.
“Prayers from his well-wishers during his birthday would surely make him happy,” he added.
For his birthday message, Duterte’s long-time and trusted aide had this to say:
“My wish for my boss is [a] long and healthy life. So he can continuously serve the country And I wish that he will have more time to spend with his family and loved ones. To my adviser, my mentor and my boss, happy birthday!” Go added.
