When Mr. 62 of Kuwait meets Ms. 69 of Dubai

A series of debate between two overseas Filipino workers has created a huge buzz on social media.

The argument started when a certain Herald Ponteras, a fitness instructor in Kuwait, uploaded a video where he expressed his opinion on President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to recall OFWs in the country, following the death of Joanna Demafelis

Ponteras said he would not return to the Philippines as he would not earn in the Philippines the same salary he gets in Kuwait. He claims earning above P62,000 with other sideline jobs where he gets almost P80,000.

His video trended on social media but it has drawn the ire of a certain AJ Mutya, another OFW in Dubai, UAE. The Filipina worker uploaded a video wherein she slammed Ponteras’ lack of empathy to distressed OFWs.

“Naintindihan mo ba ang sinabi ng Pangulo? Pag gusto mong umuwi, umuwi ka. Pag ayaw mo, magpaiwan ka jan,” she said.

Mutya also called the chiseled-body OFW in Kuwait arrogant for disclosing the amount he earns.

“Paki alam naming sa 62, mas gusto namin ang 69,” she said.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson picked up the exchange between the two, dubbed by netizens as “Mr. 62” and “Ms. 69”, and posted it on her official account. So far, the post has reached 2.8 million views and 45 thousand shares.

As of this writing, Ponteras has uploaded a video where he read his apology statement to OFWs he offended.

But wait! Another Facebook user with alias Krung Krung of Dammam said she’ll end the mess between the Mr. 62 and Ms. 69. She, however, lashes out at Mr. 62 and warned him not to set his foot in the Philippines ever again.
