WATCH: Twitterverse in UAE goes crazy as EXO lands in Dubai

The famous Korean boy band EXO landed in Dubai last January 16 to launch their song Power at the Dubai Fountain.

Filipino fans will now also be able to live their Koreanovela dream in the UAE as the said song will be now added to the list of melodies played at the Dubai Fountain. This is the first Kpop music to have ever been played at the famous fountain.

When the members of the boy band arrived at the airport on Tuesday morning, fans on Twitterverse welcomed them with the hashtag #WelcometoDubaiEXO. The hashtag became the third trending topic in the UAE last January 16.

EXO is composed of nine members, namely Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun.

They were formed in 2012 S.M. Entertainment, one of Korea’s leading entertainment companies.

The band is one of the biggest Kpop boy bands both inside and outside of South Korea to date. They have been named as one of the most powerful celebrities by Forbes Korea.

In 2016, their Exo’lution tour in North America was a success after performing in front of over 41,000 people in Dallas, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New Jersey.

After the completion of their Exo’lution tour, they were able to sell 740,000 tickets and perform a total 44 concerts in 12 countries making it their largest tour to date.

EXO is also the first Korean band to ever receive an American Music Award.

They were able to release 21 singles and four studio albums, the fourth of which, titled “The War” became their best-selling album with almost 1.6 million copies sold.

In a press conference held at the Burj Khalifa, EXO said they would like to return to the UAE for a concert soon.

“We want to come back again here to perform our next concert and sing our next song. So, wait for us, okay? Wait for us. We hope to see you again,” Suho, one of the band members, said.
