Becoming a superhero takes a lot of hard work and for actor-singer James Reid, training is a must to effectively portray one of the country’s most iconic superheroes.
Reid, 24, has already began his training for the latest film adaptation of the popular Komiks character, Pedro Penduko.
In an Instagram video posted by Viva Artists Agency, Reid can be seen practicing with a lightsaber on his first day of training.
“That’s our #PedroPenduko in training,” the caption read.

The latest re-imagined version of the superhero is about Peter Harris, a Filipino who grew up in the US with his adoptive father.
After the death of his father, Harris will go back to the Philippines in search of his mother, starting his adventure as the beloved superhero who fights off evil mythical creatures with the help of his magic amulet.
The modern take on Pedro Penduko, originally created by comics writer Francisco Coching, is the fifth big screen adaptation of the character, previously portrayed by Efren Reyes Sr., Ramon Zamora, and Janno Gibbs.
Pinoy Big Brother alumnus Matt Evans played the iconic role in its television version in 2006 until 2007.
