An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) flew back home to the Philippines after police operatives nabbed four of the seven men suspected of raping her daughter with special needs.
In 2013, news about a teenage girl allegedly gang-raped by a number of men floated around in Tanay, Rizal after the suspects boasted about the crime in their barangay.
The grandmother of Marga (name withheld) only found out about the incident after she noticed her odd behavior.
“Parang nag-iisip, walang imik, hindi makausap. Hindi siya nagsabi na sinalbahe siya,” the grandmother said in an interview with Emil Sumangil of GMA News.
Last week, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ng Quezon City arrested three suspects, including two minors, after receiving a tip off pointing to their hideout.
Another suspect turned himself in to the police, now detained at Tanay Police Station, but insisted that Marga consented to the act.
“Tinawag po kami nung babae. Wala pong pwersahan na nangyari,” said the suspect.
Marga’s mother said the teen is currently undergoing counseling to recover from the traumatic experience.
