Long immigration queue at NAIA 1 today irks passengers

Long lines are back at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA1) terminals today as only a few immigration officers (IOs) are available to process passengers’ documents.

A live feed video via The Philippine Daily Inquirer shows long queues of passengers bound for international flights.

The traveling public took their frustrations to social media, saying they thought this problem has already been addressed. Most of them fear that they might be late to their flights.

This scenario first started in January when Malacañang prohibited immigration officers from receiving overtime pay, saying it is illegal.

Several IOs went on leave and complained that their take home pay was slashed by more than 50 percent due to non-payment of overtime.
