Experience more of Nanay Ason’s specialties at Kusina Ni Nanay

DUBAI: Do you love sisig, tapsilog, and suman? Haven’t tried the famous humba of Cavite yet? Eat-all-you-can buffet for only Dh40? Kusina Ni Nanay is the perfect restaurant for you and for those who miss the food usually prepared by their nanays back in the Philippines.

Heidi Pimentel Aquino, owner of the restaurant told The Filipino Times her mom, Ma. Corazon Asuncion Monzon, fondly, “Nanay Ason” to his family and friends, is her greatest inspiration for putting up the food business.

“Ang Kusina Ni Nanay was born para mai-keep namin yung legacy ni nanay. So sabi ko sa kusinero tamang magaling kang magluto pero kailangan nating i-keep ang recipe ni nanay. Kaya very sensitive ako pagdating sa usapin patungkol sa pagkain at lasa ng luto ni nanay gawa ng marami pa din ang nasisiyahan doon sa recipe niya,” she said.

Aquino added that they chose not to limit their food offerings and combined different cuisines since they also want to serve their halal foods to other nationalities. “Our buffet is also open for time extension whenever our customers request it,” said Aquino. Timing of their daily buffet which is open from 10am until 2pm, sometimes has to be extended to accommodate late lunch of the employees in the building, according to her.

In terms of pricing, Aquino said “We have competitive pricing and we make sure our meals are balanced. Kasi kay nanay dati hindi  pwedeng pritong isda land dapat may kapartner.” For as low as Dh12 you can enjoy main dish, soup and rice.

Kusina Ni Nanay in JAFZA View, located near UAE Exchange metro station 19, was established in July 23. The restaurant is open six days a week but closed during Friday and operates from 6am to 7pm.
