The planned coronation night of what is dubbed as the first Miss Universe UAE was cancelled.
The event was slated to be held on Sunday, November 7.
According to a statement issued by its organizers in their Instagram story, the event was called off “due to time constraints”.
It was their first update in two weeks.
A new date for the pageant has not been announced.
The organizers stated: “Please watch this space for further news and updates.”
Earlier, they had announced the names of 25 out of the 30 finalists who would supposedly vie during the coronation night.
The casting call reportedly received 15,000 applicants.
The 70th Miss Universe pageant is set to be held on December 12, 2021 in Eilat, Israel. Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event.
