Highlighting his secrets, Wu urged for maintaining a strong academic and problem-solving foundation for the future — as he had gained from his participation in maths contests in high school and college.
Aligning one’s mindset and converting vision to reality, studying, and grabbing opportunities to enhance skills are the pathways to excelling in Maths, he said while urging for viewing each day as a new learning opportunity and going beyond the basic level of understanding.
MIT witnessed Wu exploring topics and readings related to class lessons so that he could master their applications, besides also struggling to solve problems without taking teachers’ support. Maintaining a high level of interest in class – even in unlikeable subjects and away from the comfort zone – was required for success in reaching one’s goal, he said adding that front row or aisle seats ensured lack of distractions for focusing on the goal.
