President Rodrigo Duterte said that the presidency is not a job that a woman can handle and dismissed that his daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte eyes Malacanang in the upcoming 2022 elections
“My daughter is not running. I have told Inday not to run because I pity her knowing she will have to go through what I am going through,” Duterte said in a speech on Thursday.
The President added, “This is not for women. You know, the emotional set-up of a woman and a man is totally different. You will become a fool here. So… that is the sad story,” Duterte said.
Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte ranked first in the most recent Pulse Asia Presidential survey for 2022 polls.
The survey, conducted from November 23 to December 2, showed that about a quarter of Filipino adults (26%) would support the presidential daughter if elections were held during the polling period.
The Philippines had two women presidents, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.
