A 21-year-old Emirati died on the spot after his car collided with a lorry along Al Tawyeen Road in Saram area, Fujairah on Wednesday, 4:30 p.m.
The authorities had to use hydraulic cutters to break the car open and rescue its driver, but he was killed instantly in the car crash.
According to reports, the driver was attempting to take a U-turn and did not immediately notice the approaching asphalt-loaded truck.
The truck fell on its side and smashed the car.
The Emirati was taken to the Dibba Al Fujairah Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Fujairah Police did not release more details about the accident.
