The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT) now has a total of eight programs that have obtained accreditation from the world-renowned Institute of Hospitality across eight of its core certificate and diploma program that focus on culinary arts, tourism, and hospitality in general.
Enmerch Jim Marquez a 19-year-old Filipino and a DCT graduate, has always been fascinated with the process and intricacies of cooking from his father at a young age.
“When I was a kid, I saw my dad cooking something – the moment I tasted it, I asked him ‘How did you do this?” and he responded ‘Why don’t you start cooking?’ At that moment, I started cooking for my family and friends,” said Marquez.
Marquez studied the Certificate of Culinary Arts at Dubai College of Tourism and is among the many Filipinos, expat students and Emiratis in the said university who have started their paths in the field of hospitality for their future career.
“We are exploring new different flavors and textures from other countries and that makes us feel excited in every dish that we make. I know DCT will help me to focus more on one thing and that is cooking. They have more hands-on studies. They will help me to gain new knowledge and more skills in the future,” added Marquez.
