As the world celebrates Mother’s Day today, May 10, an inspiring Filipino mother of three who’s also considered as the mother of many Filipinos in Dubai has shared an inspiring message for her fellow Filipino moms in the region.
Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes, spouse to Philippine Consul General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates H.E. Paul Raymund Cortes, shared that even her family is apart these days as two of her sons: 22-year-old Ralph Justin and 18-year-old Nathan Andre are both currently overseas for their studies, but that this didn’t hinder her to make sure that both her sons are doing fine.
Nakakapanibago at mahirap ang ganitong set up pero mas nakakabuti na at safe ang mga bata sa bahay,” shares Dr. Balajadia-Cortes as a hands-on mom for 7-year old Liam.
Balajadia-Cortes said that this is the time for Filipino mothers to be the hope of their families as the world continues to grapple against the impact of the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and that both the Philippine and UAE governments are ready to take care of all residents in the country.
She hopes that fellow Filipina moms can find the strength and fortitude to keep the faith and to make their children feel that they could get through this crisis together as one.
“Manatili silang magdasal at manalangin. Don’t give up at laging may solusyon sa lahat ng problema,” said Dr. Balajadia-Cortes.
