The UAE’s Health Sector has reminded everyone to practice social distancing and stay at home at all times to alleviate the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), following the number of cases in the country reaching nearly 4,000.
In a livestream media briefing held by the UAE government last April 11 via Emirates News Agency (WAM), UAE Health Sector spokeswoman Farida Al Hosani advised the public to continue practicing social distancing and to not go out unless absolutely necessary to help ease the fight against COVID-19.
“The engagement of all individuals in the UAE will contribute to accelerate the [number of] recoveries. We will succeed by continuing the process of social distancing and healthy practices at home along with the government’s sterilization plan. I advise you to please not go out unless necessary or for work,” she said.
The spokesperson added that they will evaluate the situation before they can determine until when should residents stay at home.
She also assured that for the case of fatalities, they have observed the sharia practice in order to treat them with utmost dignity, and that they have trained people to handle the process of transporting them.
Al Hosani also advised the families of those who passed away from the disease to have only a minimum number of relatives paying their respects to protect their safety and health as well.
