Two Asian men used a hammer and shovel to smash a bank cash machine at Ghayathi in Abu Dhabi’s Western region in their attempt to steal cash.
Police went to the area after receiving calls from residents that an ATM point has been damaged overnight.
Cops examining security cameras in the area saw two masked men armed with a hammer and a shovel trying to forcibly open the machine.
The two thieves were then seen giving up and dumping the tools in a nearby area after they failed to reach the cash.
Investigations in the next day resulted in gathering enough clues that led to the arrest of the two, who confessed to the aborted robbery attempt.
