A newly-wed woman filed for a divorce from her husband who refused to buy her a new bag.
The husband was stunned when he received a letter from court. The letter says his wife is seeking a divorce, Albayan newspaper reported.
The Family Consultation Centre in Dubai tried to persuade the woman to change her mind, but she reportedly insisted on pursuing it, the paper said.
It said the husband told the Centre that he refused to buy his wife “a bag of a well-known brand” because it is expensive and that he has just spent large sums of money on their honeymoon trip abroad and paid for a new house.
“The wife insisted on having a divorce even after the Centre tried to dissuade her… The court is handling this strange case,” the paper said.
