More than 300,000 people who have tried to enter the holy city of Makkah were stopped, Saudi Gazette repored.
According to Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, some 329,000 pilgrims without permits have tried to enter the holy city since the start of the Hajj season.
He added that over 144,000 vehicles without permits have also been banned from entering Makkah. In these vehicles, 15 drivers were arrested for smuggling pilgrims without permits.
In addition, 181 bogus Hajj offices were shut down.
The prince said that the government has also mobilized over 300,000 people from various sectors to serve the pilgrims—those with permits.
