Corporal Tarik Abdalla Ali Alhaway perished in the blaze that took place at the building at Marasi Drive at Business Bay after plunging from the fourth floor of the tower that’s still under construction.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, extended his condolences to the bereaved family in his official Twitter account, stating that Corporal Alhaway will always be ‘a symbol of self-sacrifice for the sake of the nation and the citizens’.
Here’s his tweet:

Corporal Alhaway was part of the crews that bravely fought against the fire that broke out 10:40 am Saturday morning that started at the lower level parking floors and spread immediately throughout, leaving smoke rising towards what otherwise was a clear skyline, as per a report from The National.
Dubai Civil Defence Head Major General Rashid Al Matrooshi said that Corporal Alhaway was indeed ‘a role model for his colleagues, a true patriot” and honoured him as as a martyr, who was killed in the line of duty.
Major General Al Matrooshi furthers that Corporal Alhaway began his service at the Union fire station in Satwa only since March.
The corporal wasn’t married and it was not clear if he died at the scene or succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Messages posted online shares that his colleague’s prayers and thoughts were with his family.
No other injuries were reported.
