Police tags primary suspect in Lapu-lapu teen’s murder

The Lapu-lapu City Police Office has already tagged a primary suspect to the gruesome murder of Christine Lee Silawan.

Senior Superintendent Limuel Obon, director of the Lapu-lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), said that Silawan knows that suspect and that they have exchanged messages in the past, reported Cebu Daily News.

Obon also said that it is still unclear if Silawan and the suspect had a romantic relationship.

“In my definition of ‘boyfriend,’ it means there is some level of closeness and nag meet na sila. If that is the case, then I can say nga hindi boyfriend. [But if may communication], then maybe they are,” Obon was quoted as saying.

The police chief opted not to disclose the identity of the primary suspect as it may affect the work of their tracker teams on the ground.

However, he said that they have strong evidence which points to that person as the one who did the brutal crime.

“The evidence is strong enough that we are confident that we are looking for the real culprit, ” Obon said.

He also said that finding the primary suspect may also help them track the other two suspects.
