Toni Gonzaga on how she built her career: “Pinasok ko ang lahat”

Who would have thought that someone as smart, beautiful, and talented as Toni Gonzaga had also experienced rejections before she became PH’s ultimate multimedia star?

Now considered as one of the Philippines’ finest actresses and hosts, Gonzaga opened up about her humble beginnings in the showbiz industry in an interview with Boy Abunda last Friday.

She revealed that she used to fall in line for every audition with her father, hoping to make it to the entertainment industry.

“Dati I’ve always just wanted to be a singer pero nung mga panahon na ‘yon, wala pang mga reality singing competition.

“Kaya nung nalaman ko na may modelling, may hosting, may acting… madami pala! Kung meron lang acrobatic, pati ‘yon, pinasok ko na,” Gonzaga recalled.

Gonzaga also talked about the first rejection she experienced in the industry when she auditioned as a model for a cosmetic line.

“[The product I was supposed to endorse] was for the face, so sabi ko, ‘Ah okay, maybe they are looking for Asian beauty.’

Kaso pagpasok ko, siyempre, puro mga models na magaganda talaga,” she said.

Gonzaga implied that she was not able to get the job and that it somehow affected her self-esteem.

However, she also said that the Lord has prepared her for such rejections and that she was able to just shake it off.

Gonzaga is currently a host of the sixth season of Pilipinas Got Talent, alongside Billy Crawford.
