ABU DHABI: More than 3000 people gathered over the weekend at the country’s capital for Bo Sanchez’ Kerygma Grand Feast 2017 conference at IPIC Arena.
TFT listed top three important messages from the preacher in blue jeans himself, Bo Sanchez and two guest speakers, author and Feast Builder, JPaul Hernandez and rocker preacher, Alvin Barcelona, that every overseas Filipino could related to.
1. Bo Sanchez: “Your problems might be the same but you aren’t.”
Admit it or not, we find ourselves at some point in our lives being in the same unwanted situation for a long time, asking God for change, but months, even years have gone by and no single change or answer has arrived.
And there we are, giving up and continuing with life with no enthusiasm or drive at all. Eventually, our souls die and that for Sanchez’ is one the biggest mistake one’ll ever commit in life.
In his talk, Sanchez spoke about the importance of being patient and getting as much as we can throughout the waiting process. See the good in the darkest hours, he said, because He is preparing us for the best days ahead.
“God is telling you, the journey maybe long and you are growing impatient, but I want you to trust me that something deep inside you is changing. The journey might be the same, the problem might be the same, the trial might be the same, the pain might be the same, the tears might be the same, but you, you are getting better,” Sanchez said.
Getting better, stronger and wiser in the sense that every challenge that comes your way shouldn’t be as hard to deal with as compared to those of your younger years.
2. JPaul Hernandez: “Overcoming barriers”
Feast Builder Greenhills Manila and guest speaker JPaul Hernandez for his part, spoke about discovering your power for you to achieve your truest potentials.
Hernandez shared his life story, saying five years ago, when he was 25, he was jobless, broke, overweight, single and just depressed.
He said he quit his job, tried to venture into different kinds of business, failed a couple of times and went broke. That’s when he started to feel depressed and gained weight. He said he tried to look inside of him, what he is good at and discovered that he has always been a communications person.
He loves to write and share stories and that’s when he started polishing his skills, and turning his “what ifs” into reality. His first book, “A Young Man’s Manual to a Successful Life,” was nominated at the Catholic Mass Media Awards.
“If something you have planned didn’t work, don’t worry. Life doesn’t have dead ends but only detours and He will surely lead you to where you should be when you are ready,” Hernandez said.
3. Alvin Barcelona: “There is pain in gaining”
The third and last speaker of the day was Feast Builder Bay Area, rocker-preacher Alvin Barcelona. His examples were very much relatable that he gets a lot of engagement from the crowd.
He used an apple, orange, calamansi and other fruits as an example for his topic, which was, there is pain in gaining. He said to get the best of these fruits, what do we do? “We dice, peel and squeeze them, yung pinaka-katas,” He said.
“The same applies to humans. We go through a lot of misfortunes and obstacles in life to get the best of us,” he added.
He also said problems are temporary and shouldn’t be a concern.
“Kaya nga ang tawag may pinagdadaanan ka lang, hindi ka dyan nakatira.”
The event was organized by the Light of Jesus Family under the leadership of Sanchez.
The event was held on Feb. 10, 2017.
