A Filipino in New York City was slashed in the face by his fellow passenger while onboard the New York City subway last Wednesday.
Noel Quintana, 61, said he was on his way to work in Harlem, when he called the attention of another passenger after repeatedly kicking his backpack on the train’s floor.
To his surprise, the man draw out a box cutter and slashed him. The culprit, as seen in CCTV footage acquired by police, calmly walked away as if nothing happened when the train stopped at First Avenue and 14th Street.
According to ABC7, Quintana’s face was slashed from ear to ear. As he stumbled off the train bleeding, he sought help from an MTA worker in a booth, who called 911.
The Filipino immigrant was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. He had to receive 100 stitches in his face because of the incident, but is now in stable condition.
In a separate report by the Daily Mail, it said that the New York Police Department (NYPD) continues to hunt down the attacker, who was described as a man in his 20s or 30s with black hair.
He was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, red hoodie, blue jeans, red bandana, light color sneakers, and a brown Louis Vuitton face mask.

Several incidents of transit attacks were already recorded in recent months.
On Thursday (Feb. 5) morning, another passenger was pushed onto subway tracks in Lower Manhattan.
