KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Police have rejected an online report alleging that they had arrested Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach for attempting to smuggle drugs into the country.
The Star Online reported Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali as saying that the news of the arrest was not true.
“She has not been arrested. It’s a fake news report,” he was quoted saying.
An article on an online news portal had claimed the Filipina beauty queen was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport for attempting to smuggle 10kgs of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee inside her suitcase, reported Malay Mail.
