K-pop girl group MOMOLAND disbands

K-pop girl group MOMOLAND has officially disbanded after 7 years. They announced their goodbyes to their “Merries”, or what they call their loyal fans, on Instagram via handwritten letter of each members.

”After a long deep discussion, the six of us members have decided to support each other to have a great new beginning going forward. Even though we have decided to take our own paths towards our dreams, us MOMOLAND will always be a team.” the members said in their letters.

Nancy, Ahin, Jane, JooE, Hyebin, and Nayun reached out to their Merries apologizing for the announcement of their disbandment. They also expressed their gratitude towards the fans’ unwavering support, and asked them to continue supporting them in their future individual endeavors.

Merries left comments in the members’ Instagram posts, expressing different sentiments over the disbandment. They mentioned that they are not prepared for their favorite group to go their separate ways, but they also thanked them for the memories and that they will continue to support them as individual artists.

MOMOLAND is known for their global hits “BBoom BBom” and “BAAM,” and they started to form the group through the reality talent search “Finding Momoland” in 2016. Initially, the group had nine members, before Yeonwoo and Taeha made their departure in 2019 and Daisy in 2020.
