President Rodrigo Duterte hints on Sunday that he may soon dismiss another government official due to its alleged involvement with government corruption.
During his visit at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend, Duterte said that this impending move is in line with his campaign promise to rid the country of corruption in government.
“In due time, I’m going to dismiss another official, Pu— ina, ang titigas talaga ng ulo,” GMA News quoted the President as saying.
“Ayaw ko ng oppression sa Pilipino. That has to stop. Sa airport ngayon wala nang bukasan ng bag … Kung meron mang kontrabando, nakikita na ‘yon sa baba. Why do you have to mess up, magbukas ng bag? Ayoko ‘yung airport police maglapit-lapit sa pasahero.”
Although he did not drop any names, Duterte specifically warned employees and officials of the Customs and Immigration bureaus that all of them will be sacked if even just one colleague commits a wrongdoing. He also reiterated about how he wants officials to treat everyone fairly.
“Ayoko ‘yung makita ‘yung mga kagaya namin may special treatment. Tabla tabla tayo lahat. Kung palusutin mo ‘yung congressman,’yung presidente, palusutin mo ‘yung iba. Lalo na ‘yung OFW [overseas Filipino worker], do not… ‘yung mga mahirap, do not [give them a hard time]. Kung ayaw mo ng sakit ng ulo,” Duterte added.
