The UAE Public Prosecution (PP) warned the public that online prostitution in the country may levy a fine of up to AED 1 million.
Article No. 33 of Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrimes state that any person who incites or entices another to engage in prostitution or debauchery or assist therein, using a computer network or any means of information technology shall be sentenced to temporary imprisonment or a fine ranging between AED 25,000 and AED 1,000,000.
Violations in this regard may lead to imprisonment for a minimum term of five years (5 years) or a maximum fine not less than AED1,000,000 if the victim is a child, the law says.
