UAE reports 781 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases as total exceeds 18,000

The UAE has reported record highs both in the number of new cases and recoveries for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) has recently conducted 29,000 additional tests that led to the discovery of 781 new cases in the country, with the total now reaching over 18,198.


MoHaP also reported 13 new casualties from different nationalities as the UAE’s death toll for COVID-19 is now at 198.
The Ministry expresses its sincerest condolences for the bereaved families.


MoHaP furthered that recoveries also reported a new record high exceeding 509 recoveries in one day, as the total number of fully healed citizens and residents has reached 4,804.

The Ministry also advises the general public to adhere to the preventative health and personal hygiene measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
It noted basic protective measures such as the frequent washing of hands, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or into one’s elbow, and to seek early medical care if symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing arise.
The Ministry also advised individuals with respiratory illness symptoms to avoid mixing in crowded places. It also called on members of the public to seek information from official sources and avoid spreading misinformation.
