Drones used to deliver medicine in Singapore

Singapore has begun utilizing the services of drones to deliver medications and vitamins as part of its preventive measure against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a report by Rappler, drone delivery service is part of the country’s drive to shift towards technology, especially amid the threat of the pandemic—adding that drones are crucial in reducing human contact.

The service is also a response to the manpower shortage in the country, which now stands at only 5.7 million.
According to the report, F-drones—the company behind the service—has delivered two kilograms of vitamins via drones to a ship owned by customer Eastern Pacific Shipping.
The company also noted that they aim to be able to deliver 100 kilograms over a distance of 100 kilometers by the second half of 2021.
