The Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH) has reported 102 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country as numbers have reached a total of 7,294.
DOH also reported 17 new casualties, as total numbers are now at 494.
The health department also announced the recovery of 30 more individuals, further widening the gap between recoveries and mortality rate. The total number of recoveries in the country now stands at 792.
President Rodrigo Duterte recently approved the extension of enhanced community in Metro Manila and areas deemed high-risk for transmission of COVID-19 until May 15 as the country’s ongoing measure to prevent further transmission of COVID-19 continues for the benefit of the public.
The president has also increased the reward that now amounts to Php50 million, for the Filipino who will discover a vaccine for COVID-19.
