LOOK: PH Navy goes extra the mile to distribute relief goods to poor families in Baseco

The Philippine Navy (PN) distributed relief aid to impoverished residents of Baseco Compound in Tondo, Manila on Easter Sunday.
Around 260 families residing along the riverbanks of Pasig river in Baseco receive sacks of rice.
The members of the Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) utilized four inflatable boats to navigate the area considered as the largest slum area in Manila.
Navy troops used a 10-foot pole hooks to extend their reach during the distribution.
In a statement, PN public affairs office chief, Lt. Commander Maria Christina Roxas said this served as a test run for a possible means to help the poorest of the poor during the public health crisis.
The initiative was in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Leadership and Development Center (AFPLDC) and in partnership with individual donors.
