Dubai’s Waterfront Market resumes operations

The Waterfront Market in Dubai resumed its business as normal operations on Tuesday after securing permission from Dubai authorities to reopen.
The company in a statement said it had been considered as “essential service to the public and to trade customers” and would reopen to public on April 7.
As part of its reopening, the Waterfront Market implemented a range of precautionary health and safety measures to stem the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
It will now close between 12 pm and 2 pm, and 2 am to 6 am to undergo deep cleaning and disinfection.
Thermal scanners and hand sanitizer units were also installed at all entrances of the market.
Physical distancing inside the premises of the establishment is encouraged while masks and gloves will be mandatory.
Only one member of the family will be allowed to enter the market in accordance with the protocols in place and children will be barred from entering.
The bustling market, located in Deira, is home to hundreds of vendors. It opened two-and-a-half years ago, having taken over from Deira’s famed Fish Market. The new sprawling site is a covered market with air-conditioning.
