Senator Sonny Angara revealed on his social media account that he is recovering from the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
He also spent few days in a hospital’s emergency room before being allowed to return home.
“After several days in the ER and the covid wing my doctors finally sent me home today– negative for the virus and pneumonia free,” Angara said on his Instagram account.

The senator also expressed his gratitude to his doctors and nurses who took care of him. He also thanked his family and friends for their prayers on his recovery.
“Am truly grateful for the gift of life and even more so now for those at the front lines who safeguard our lives and protect our society. I met nurses and doctors who don’t go home anymore, some even doing double duty in other hospitals,” the senator added.
Angara also acknowledged the efforts of the medical frontliners, calling them ‘real heroes’.

“They truly truly are REAL HEROES. I will be at home with my son when he celebrates his bday this weekend but many of our health workers will not make it home as a measure of protection for their families. Salamat po and godbless everyone. Hope everyone is safe at home,” he added.
Angara is the third senator who tested positive for the virus after Senator Migz Zubiri and Koko Pimentel.
