Benguet farmer donates 1,500 kilos of vegetables to his own community, city

Demand from vegetable buyers locally produced in provinces like in Benguet has suffered a huge decline due to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon to prevent of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19. 

This led to a farmer in Atok town, Benguet to donate 1,500 kilos of lettuce to his community.

PJ Haight from Sayangan Village brought his truck and parked it in public places with lettuce so that residents can bring some home for free.

Haight also donated vegetables to the Baguio City government. 

The Department of Agriculture in Cordillera said that the flow of vegetables from the province should remain stable despite the month-long lockdown.
