UAE malls reduce mall operating hours to make way for cleaning and sanitization

Beginning on March 17, mall operator Majid Al Futtaim announced they will now open at 12 p.m. and close by 8 p.m.
The company said it will reduce its store hours as part of its preventive measures against coronavirus.
“These reduced hours have been put in place to afford further cleaning and sanitisation of our assets, ensuring a safer experience for our customers. The safety and wellbeing of our valued employees, retail partners, and customers remains our number one priority,” the company said.
Mall of the Emirates will also reduce its operating hours.
“Starting March 18 and until further notice Mall of the Emirates opening hours change to 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm,” the Mall of the Emirates said.
However, they said that the Carrefour, clinics, and pharmacies will be excluded from the said changes.
The mall chain said the reduced hours are allocated for further cleaning and sanitization of their assets, ensuring a safer experience for its customers including their valued employees and retail partners.
According to its website, they have a total of 21 malls across the Emirates.
As of this writing, the Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira have updated their timings on their Google business listings.
