In just 24 hours, Italy has recorded a total of 345 deaths due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to the report from Reuters quoting the Civil Protection Agency, this is an increase of 16 percent.
The total death toll is now at 2,503.
Confirmed cases have also went up by 12.6 percent which is now at 31,506 from the previous 27,980.
However, authorities say that this is the slowest rate of increase since the contagion on Feb. 21.
There were reportedly 2,060 people in intensive care.
Around 2,941 people had fully recovered.
