A municipal councilor from Negros Oriental that tested positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines has already died.
The latest reported death was announced on Sunday in a post by the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental through their verified Facebook page.
The patient, who is also immunocompromised after undergoing a transplant, died at 11:09 a.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives house announced the death of one of their staff who also tested positive of COVID-19.
In a report by ABS-CBN News on Sunday, it was House secretary-general Jose Luis Montales that announced it.
The said employee worked at the chamber’s printing service department.
PBA Partlist Rep. Jericho Nograles, in a separate statement, asked the members of the Lower House to be “mindful of any symptoms and do their part on the community quarantine guidelines”.

He also asked the secretary-general to promptly conduct contact tracing.
As of Saturday, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 111 COVID-19 cases, including 8 fatalities.
