There are now 12 recorded deaths due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines.
The Department of Health (DOH) has announced this in a statement released on Sunday evening.

DOH says the latest reported death was a 56-year-old male who was admitted at the Makati Medical Center.
The man, with patient ID of PH12, was confirmed to have contracted the virus last March 9.

He died tonight, March 15, due to acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to COVID-19.
He was also reported to have a pre-existing asthma.
