Davao City now under community quarantine

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte followed the footsteps of her father and placed Davao City under community quarantine to prevent the coronavirus disease spread or COVID-19.
The order is “effective immediately,” but it’s unclear on until when the quarantine takes effect.
Duterte said that reason why she placed Davao under quarantine was because of the challenges when it comes to testing suspected patients.

The Davao mayor said that tests are sent to Manila from Davao. Results would usually come out in two days.
“I don’t think we should wait for a patient to test positive before we declare a community quarantine,” Duterte said.
Under the order, people are required to stay in their homes and only leave for work or for securing food and/or medicine.
