Makati Mayor: Taiwanese national positive for COVID-19 visited city

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay has confirmed that the Taiwanese national who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) visited their city.
Binay said the Makati Health Department (MHD) has located the people whom the patient may have come in contact with.
“I instructed the MHD to immediately locate the hotel staff, the national’s associates, and all others whom he may have come in contact with during his stay in the city,” she said in a Facebook post.

Binay added that while the traced contacts did not manifest any COVID-19 symptoms, heath officials advised them to go under self-quarantine.
The Taiwanese national was confined in a private hospital but later on transferred to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine(RITM).
Binay said the local government has COVID-19 protocols to prevent the virus spread.

“I would like to assure parents and students that since February, the city government has been disinfecting public schools and public areas in Makati,” Binay added.
“To further assure the public, I am asking all buildings and facilities, whether public or private, to disinfect their premises regularly.”
