UAE Ministry of Education rolls out distance learning for public schools

Public schools in the UAE will be implementing a distance learning initiative for students to study from home after the country announced suspension of classes in all levels.
The Ministry of Education launched the initiative on Monday through its website, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The closure of all public and private schools and higher education institutions across the UAE will start on Sunday as part of the country’s preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COIVD-19).
Schools administrators are directed to launch an awareness campaign on distance education for all targeted groups, including parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
Students are obliged to commit themselves to distance learning, the ministry reminded.
It emphasized that during the distance education process, they are prohibited to do other distracting activities.
The ministry also called on parents to create an appropriate learning environment at home for their children.
