China’s National Health Commission on Wednesday recorded 97 fatalities bringing the death toll coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to 1113.
Chinses health authorities received reports of 2,015 new confirmed cases across 31 regional level-provinces.
The Hubei Provincial Health Commission reported 94 fatalities and 1,168 new cases in the last 24 hours.
The total number of infections in the province climbed to 33,366, with 1,068 deaths and 2,639 cases of recovery.
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is now around 45,000, majority of which are in mainland China.
On Tuesday, the disease was officially named by the World Health Organization as COVID-19.
