Las Damas de Rizal Central Region Chapter KSA marks first anniversary in Saudi Arabia

The Las Damas de Rizal Central Region Chapter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (LDR-CRC, KSA) celebrated its first anniversary and held the induction of new officers and members on May 29 at Dabab Hotel by Warwick in Riyadh.

The event, themed “Courage, Trust, and Hope,” gathered representatives from the Philippine Embassy, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), law enforcement officials, members of the Knights of Rizal and leaders of Filipino community organizations.

Among the guests were First Secretary and Philippine Embassy Consul Dean Jason Arriola, Police Attaché Col. Virgilio Viloria, Police Chief Master Sergeant Mark Paccalagan, Labor Attaché Atty. Dominador Salanga, and Assistant Labor Attaché Lucille T. Gayaman, who served as the inducting officer.

In his remarks, Arriola said the Philippine Embassy supports activities that promote government programs and provide assistance to Filipinos in need in the Kingdom. He also underscored the embassy’s commitment to working with Las Damas de Rizal, the Knights of Rizal, and other organizations for the benefit of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.

Acting Chapter Commander Rodolfo Argel of the Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter encouraged members to continue promoting the values of Dr. Jose Rizal through volunteerism, cultural advocacy, and community service.

Chapter President Divina Asug highlighted the organization’s accomplishments during its first year, including community initiatives and engagements involving Filipino communities in Saudi Arabia and abroad. She also credited the chapter’s members for sustaining the organization amid regional and geopolitical challenges.

New officers and members took their oath before Gayaman and pledged to uphold the values of patriotism, civic duty, and integrity espoused by Dr. Jose Rizal.

The event also recognized the chapter’s founding officers and pioneer members for their role in establishing and developing the organization during its first year.

Vice President Arisah Cayetano delivered the closing remarks and thanked diplomats, sponsors, members of the Knights of Rizal, and families for their support.

Founded in 2025, the Las Damas de Rizal Central Region Chapter, KSA is a women’s organization affiliated with the Knights of Rizal that promotes cultural heritage, volunteerism, and community service among Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.
