With just one day to go before Filipinos across the UAE gather at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organizers are putting the finishing touches on a day-long celebration marking the 128th anniversary of Philippine independence.
This year’s event also marks a milestone for the Filipino Social Club (FilSoc), which is celebrating its 10th year of organizing the annual Independence Day gathering at DWTC.
Scheduled on June 13 at Sheikh Saeed Hall 1, the celebration will feature a mix of cultural performances, competitions, community activities, sporting events, exhibits, and Filipino food experiences aimed at bringing together Filipinos from different generations and backgrounds.
Among the anticipated highlights is the Best of Philippine Festivals Showdown, which will showcase the colors and traditions of Philippine festivals, alongside the Philippine Chorale Festival and the Filipino Schools Drum and Lyre Parade.

Pageantry and cultural heritage will also take center stage through the Philippine Festival Queen Competition 2026, the Barong at Filipiniana Kids Fashion Show, and Sagala 2026 featuring members of the Filipino Senior Citizens Club.

For students and young innovators, the event will host educational competitions and exhibits, including the Likha ng Siyensiya Robotics and Innovation Display Contest, MathIIEEnik, and the Tula at Pinta Contest.

Community members looking for family-friendly activities can take part in Larong Pinoy games, the Peryahan sa Kalayaan, the Kalayaan Bike Show, and the Filipino Community Unity Parade. A concert segment, Konsyerto Para sa Filipino sa Kalayaan 2026, is also expected to draw audiences throughout the day.

Visitors can likewise explore the Pinoy Street Bazaar, where Filipino-owned businesses, food vendors, and exhibitors will showcase products and services. Regional delicacy displays and art exhibits are also set to be featured during the celebration.
In addition, free basic medical check-ups will be available, while sports enthusiasts can follow the Kalayaan Bowling Tournament and Pinoy Football Tournament activities taking place as part of the wider Independence Day observance.
The June 13 celebration forms part of a broader series of Philippine Independence Day activities taking place across the UAE throughout the month, including community, cultural, religious, and business-led initiatives.
As the countdown enters its final day, organizers are encouraging Filipinos to come together in celebration of Philippine heritage while marking a decade of FilSoc’s Independence Day gatherings at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Admission is free and open to the public.
