Dubai Police visit survivors of crash that killed seven workers

Dubai Police officials visited survivors of the deadly Emirates Road crash that claimed seven lives and injured nine others, reaffirming their support for victims recovering from the tragedy.

The visit was conducted under the direction of Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri and followed by senior police officials, including Brig. Juma Salem bin Suwaidan.

The officers visited injured victims at Rashid Hospital, where they are receiving treatment following Sunday’s crash on Emirates Road.

Police officials met with patients, checked on their condition, and presented flowers while wishing them a speedy recovery.

According to Dubai Police, the collision occurred after a truck stopped in the middle of Emirates Road following an earlier traffic accident. A minibus traveling in the same direction subsequently crashed into the stationary vehicle.

The accident left seven people dead and nine others injured. Authorities said five of the injured sustained serious injuries while four suffered moderate injuries.

During the visit, Dubai Police renewed calls for motorists to remain vigilant, maintain safe following distances, and observe proper safety procedures during emergencies and vehicle breakdowns.

Meanwhile, the government of the Indian state of Telangana dispatched legislator Medipally Sathyam to Dubai to assist the families of victims killed in the crash.

Officials said three of the seven fatalities were workers from Telangana. Sathyam said he would coordinate with the Indian Consulate, the Embassy of India, and UAE authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the victims’ remains and assist affected families.

He also confirmed that another worker from Telangana survived the crash and remains hospitalized.

Separately, Abu Dhabi-based businessman Shamsheer Vayalil announced a relief package worth Dh1 million for the families of those killed and injured in the accident.
