Filipino Catholic healing priest Fr. Fernando Suarez has passed away due to a heart attack on Tuesday. He was 52 years old.
Suarez was reportedly playing tennis when he collapsed at the Alabang Country Club on Wednesday, according to his spokesperson.
Suarez was brought to the Asian Hospital Medical Center but was declared dead around 3:00 PM.
“Our healing priest si Fr. Fernando Suarez has collapsed and died of a massive heart attack while he was playing tennis… It was a yearly tournament for priests, all priests ang participants,” Deedee Siytangco said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Suarez became popular for his healing masses and cured several illnesses.
In January, the Vatican found him not guilty of allegedly sexually abusing minors and appealed to bishops that there’s no more reason to ban him in their dioceses.
