14-day quarantine for all passengers arriving from China pushed in Cebu

Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia wants to place all passengers coming from China to Cebu under a 14-day quarantine amid the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease outbreak.
Garcia said that she has identified two properties owned by the Provincial government and the Department of Health Region 7 (DOH-7) where these passengers will be quarantined.
In a few days, Garcia added that she will formalize the new policy through an Executive Order.
The quarantine facilities will also be available in 2 to 3 days.
Garcia called for a multi-agency meeting on Coronavirus on Thursday afternoon where she shared that these two facilities may only be able to accommodate 200 people.
They are also looking for more facilities.
She hopes that with the quarantine policy in place in Cebu, this will now discourage arrival of tourists coming from China.
Garcia refused to issue a ban order on Chinese nationals.
In the same meeting, Garcia also said she will create a Task Force on the New Corona Virus similar to the ASF (African Swine Fever) Task Force preventing it from entering the province.
Cebu Province will also strengthen monitoring and surveillance in all its 16 ports with the use of handheld thermal scanners for each arriving passenger.
