World's largest observation wheel slated to open this year

Dubai Media Office confirmed Sunday that the world’s largest observation wheel is set to open this year.
Meraas, the developer of the project, revealed that Ain Dubai will debut just in time for the Expo2020.
In a statement, Meraas said the structure will be over 200 percent taller than the first ever Ferris wheel, demonstrating the company’s continuous desire to push the boundaries of what’s possible with modern engineering and construction.
The construction of the structure has been relentless as the eighth and final 450-tonne temporary steel spoke has been successfully removed from the structure and the last of the permanent spoke cables had been installed.
Once finished, the 250-meter observation wheel can carry up to 1,900 passengers in its 48 double-glazed capsules.
Ain Dubai is slated to become the world’s tallest observation wheel, offering a magnificent view of Dubai as well as the crystal blue waters of the Bluewaters Island, which features entertainment retail, residential and hospitality experience for tourists and residents in Dubai.
