Authorities granted Tanauan residents a few hours this weekend to get their remaining belongings and feed their pets and live stocks.
The window hours given to the Taal eruption victims were scheduled from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Sunday according to a GMA News report.
Tanuan is including in the list of towns put under a lockdown as it was within the 14-kilometer danger zone.
A mandatory evacuation is being implemented in the town as the Taal volcano remains on Alert Level 4. This means that a hazardous and imminent explosive eruption may still happen in hours or in the coming days.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) maintained the Alert Level 4 status of the Taal volcano as the number of earthquakes near the area rose to 787 in the past 24 hours.
Tensions arose last Saturday as authorities tried to prevent residents from entering the danger zone.
Residents appeared to be calmer on Sunday.
Those who want to enter the town were asked to leave their IDs at the checkpoint and claim them back on their way out.
Barangay officials were told to identify their residents if they can present any valid IDs to prevent criminals from entering the area.
