Four individuals died in a car crash when a speeding motorist’s vehicle collided with theirs on a highway in Abu Dhabi.
The young man was driving recklessly on a highway when he suddenly lost control of his car which then crashed into another vehicle that led to the deaths of two men and two women.
Authorities apprehended the man and charged him with causing the death of four people in a traffic accident, reckless driving, illegal racing on the road, driving in a manner that would harm others, and damaging public property.
The Court of First Instance sentenced a guilty verdict to the motorist on all charges against him.
He was ordered by the court to pay blood money of Dh200,000 to the family of each of the two male victims, Dh100,000 to each the families of the female victims and was also sentenced to serve one-year jail time, pay Dh10,000 fine and surrender his driver’s license for a whole year.
